Avinash Sachdev to play jamai in Ashvini Yardi’s next?

MUMBAI: After his stint in the mystery genre with Ayushman Bhava, TV hottie Avinash Sachdev is all set to dive into comedy. The 31-year-old is likely to be locked for a new comedy show.

Akshay Kumar’s Grazing Goat Pictures’ co-producer, Ashvini Yardi, is working on her upcoming show for SAB TV. As per exclusive information available to tellynews, Avinash might play the lead in the show, which Ashvini will helm under her new production house Vini Yard Films. Established in 2016, Vini Yard has already produced &TV’s Waaris.

According to our intel, the untitled project is an interesting take on the relationship between a father-in-law (sasur) and son-in-law (jamai) à la the on-screen camaraderie between Kader Khan and Govinda.

Avinash will play the jamai, while the hunt for the sasur is still on. Although Avinash hasn’t signed on the dotted lines yet, an informer reveals that he will officially seal the deal in this week.

The Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?…Ek Baar Phir actor will be trying his hands at comedy for the first time. In his over a decade-long career, the actor has essayed varied characters and received wide recognition with Zee TV’s Chotti Bahu – Sindoor Bin Suhagan.

When tellynews contacted him, he said, ‘Nothing is finalized right now, so I really can’t comment.’

We dropped Ashvini a text and are waiting for her to revert.

For the uninitiated, producer Ashvini is not a new name in the Indian TV industry. The talented entrepreneur is a TV expert with over 2 decades of experience. After working with top channels in the country, Yardi shifted her focus to Bollywood production with films like OMG. Soon, she returned to where it all began. With her second project as an independent producer, Ashvini is keen to hit the bull’s eye.
